1. Scope & who this applies to
This Data Deletion Policy applies to all individuals who have created an account or otherwise provided personal data through:
- The Nyota Sasa Fund mobile application (iOS and Android), bundle identifier
com.vyrosoft.Nyota Sasa Fund; - Associated websites, APIs, and admin services that process Nyota Sasa Fund user data;
- Features including profile creation, matching, messaging, video dating, job/employer listings, wallet and in-app purchases, swipe credits, and location-based discovery.
"Personal data" (or "personal information") means any information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked with you, either alone or in combination with other information.

2. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to erasure / deletion — request that we delete personal data we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to access — request a copy of personal data we process about you.
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable.
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
- Right not to be discriminated against (e.g., under CCPA/CPRA) for exercising privacy rights.

3. How to submit a deletion request
3.1 Email request (required channel)

Your email must include:
- Subject line:
Nyota Sasa Fund Data Deletion Request(or similar clear wording); - From address: the email address registered on your Nyota Sasa Fund account (this is our primary verification method);
- Body: a clear statement that you want your account and personal data deleted;
- Account identifier: your registered email; optionally your display name or internal user ID if you know it;
- Confirmation: that you understand deletion is permanent and may affect matches, messages, purchases, and wallet balances.
Subject: Nyota Sasa Fund Data Deletion Request Hello Nyota Sasa Fund Privacy Team, I request permanent deletion of my Nyota Sasa Fund account and all personal data associated with it. Registered account email: [YOUR EMAIL HERE] Full name (optional): User ID (if known): I confirm that I am the account holder and understand this action cannot be undone. Thank you.
3.2 What happens after you email us
- We send an automated or manual acknowledgment within 3 business days;
- We verify your identity (see Section 8);
- We process deletion within the timelines in Section 7;
- We send a final confirmation when deletion is complete or explain any legal basis for retained data.
Important: If you email from an address that does not match your Nyota Sasa Fund account, we cannot process deletion until you either (a) email from the registered address, or (b) complete additional verification steps we provide.
4. In-app account deletion
Nyota Sasa Fund also offers in-app account deletion for your convenience:
- Open the Nyota Sasa Fund app and sign in;
- Go to Profile → Settings (or Account settings);
- Select Delete Account;
- Confirm when prompted.
In-app deletion initiates the same backend deletion process as an email request. If you experience errors, cannot access the app, or need confirmation for app store compliance (Google Play / Apple), please email renlyway@gmail.com from your registered account email.
Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account or server-side data. You must use in-app deletion or email us.
5. Data we delete
Upon a verified deletion request, we delete or anonymize personal data associated with your account, including but not limited to:

| Device & technical | Push notification tokens (e.g., OneSignal), device identifiers stored in our database, session tokens |
| User-generated content | Stories, posts, comments, and other content attributable to your profile |
Data stored in third-party systems (e.g., Firebase Authentication, Firebase Cloud Firestore chat, cloud storage for images) is deleted or disassociated according to our integration practices and the third party's data processing terms.
6. Data we may retain
We may retain certain information after a deletion request where required or permitted by law, including:
- Legal compliance: records required for tax, accounting, anti-fraud, or financial regulations (e.g., payment receipts, transaction IDs without ongoing profile access);
- Dispute resolution: information necessary to resolve disputes, enforce our Terms of Use, or defend legal claims;
- Safety & abuse prevention: anonymized or minimized records of reports, bans, or serious policy violations to protect other users;
- Backup systems: residual copies in encrypted backups that are automatically purged on a rolling schedule (typically within 90 days);
- Aggregated analytics: de-identified statistical data that cannot reasonably identify you.
When we retain data, we restrict access, minimize fields where possible, and do not use retained data for marketing or profiling.
7. Processing timeline

Complex requests (e.g., multiple accounts, legal holds, or active investigations) may require an extension. We will notify you with the reason and expected completion date.
8. Identity verification
To prevent fraudulent deletion of another person's account, we verify requests using:
- Email match — request sent from the registered account email (preferred);
- OTP to registered phone number, if on file;
- Response to security questions or signed declaration, in exceptional cases;
- Government ID review, only where legally required or for high-risk accounts — processed securely and deleted after verification.
Authorized agents (e.g., legal guardians, estate representatives) may submit requests on behalf of a user with proof of authority. Contact renlyway@gmail.com with documentation.
9. Third-party services
Nyota Sasa Fund uses service providers that may process personal data. When you request deletion, we instruct relevant processors to delete or return data, including where applicable:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, cloud messaging, Firestore chat;
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — OAuth account linking (disconnect in provider settings separately if desired);
- OneSignal — push notifications;
- Google Maps / Geolocation — location features;
- M-Pesa (Safaricom Daraja) — mobile money payments;
- Paystack — card payments for swipe packs and subscriptions;
- Apple App Store / Google Play — in-app purchases and subscriptions (cancel subscriptions in store settings; purchase history may remain with Apple/Google);
- Cloud storage/CDN — profile and media hosting.
Deleting your Nyota Sasa Fund account does not automatically cancel active App Store or Play Store subscriptions. You must cancel subscriptions in your device account settings to avoid future charges.
10. Children's data
Nyota Sasa Fund is intended for adults (typically 18 years or older, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the applicable age limit.
If you believe a minor has created an account, email renlyway@gmail.com immediately with details. We will investigate and delete the account and associated data promptly.
11. Regional notices
11.1 European Economic Area & UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to erasure under Article 17 GDPR. Our lawful bases for processing are described in our Privacy Policy. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We will respond to verified requests without undue delay and within one month, extendable by two months where necessary.
11.2 Kenya (Data Protection Act, 2019)
Kenyan users may contact us to exercise rights including erasure, access, and objection. We process data in accordance with the Data Protection Act and applicable regulations. Complaints may be referred to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) where appropriate.
11.3 United States (California and other states)
California residents may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to delete personal information collected about them. We do not sell personal information as defined under California law. To exercise rights, email renlyway@gmail.com from your registered account email. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
11.4 Other jurisdictions
Users in Brazil (LGPD), South Africa (POPIA), India (DPDP Act), and other regions with privacy laws may submit requests using the same contact method. We honor applicable local rights to the extent required by law.
12. Appeals & complaints
If we deny part or all of your deletion request (e.g., due to legal retention), we will explain the reason and categories of data retained.
To appeal, reply to our response email within 30 days with "Appeal" in the subject line and additional information supporting your request.
You may also contact your data protection authority or consumer protection agency if you believe your rights have been violated.
